Startup Quest: from idea to impact with Edge AI
During the event organised by dAIEDGE, ‘Driving Business Models and Solutions with Edge AI’, in which we proudly participated and collaborated, and which took place this week in Salamanca, we held a hackathon in which our colleague Sergio Márquez participated as a judge alongside Raúl López (USAL) and Blanca García (President of the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Salamanca and Castile and León, and Director of Crece Digital). Together, we created a space where young talent and entrepreneurs could show how AI at the edge can solve real problems with a direct impact on society.
The participating teams worked to devise business models and viable proposals in three key areas:
- Smart Cities: Edge AI solutions that improve mobility, energy efficiency and safety in cities.
- Accessibility for older people and the social impact of Edge AI: projects that seek to ensure that technology generates inclusion and social well-being.
- Operational efficiency of small businesses and local shops: ideas to improve the digitisation and competitiveness of businesses, generating a positive economic impact on their communities.
Sergio, together with Raúl and Blanca, evaluated the innovation, technical feasibility and impact of each proposal, highlighting the maturity of the projects presented, especially considering that the ideas were generated and developed in such a short time.
Finally, the winner was announced: Bruno Oré with his proposal on Accessibility for the elderly and the social impact of Edge AI, a project that stood out for its innovative, realistic approach and potential for scalability.
